"Awaken your potential every morning and see your life transform."
— Hal Elrod

One of the most meaningful ways to achieve our purpose is by creating a morning routine filled with habits that shape the direction of our day. By changing how we live each day, we can completely transform the course of our lives.

Waking up in the morning has always been a challenge for many of us. We want to stay comfortable in bed. For years, resistance prevailed in me. I hit the snooze button every morning. When I finally got up, it was because I had no other choice. Over time, I became aware of this behavior and the meaning it was giving to my life.

In practice, my actions were telling God that I didn’t want to live my best life or enjoy all the good things He has to offer. How many of you can relate to this behavior?

Did you know scientists say resistance to waking up in the morning is linked to higher levels of frustration and depression? People who struggle with this often fail to find purpose or pleasure in life; the lack of perspective dominates their hearts. But life doesn’t have to be this way.

It is the right of every human being to enjoy the good things life has to offer. And if that’s not reason enough for you, think about the people you love and support—your family, friends, and co-workers.

We were all born to live abundantly. I firmly believe this is part of being made in the image and likeness of God. Look deeply at nature and you will see the fullness of the Creator.

I affirm that you can access the abundance within you, which will enable you to achieve the quality of life you desire—whether that’s your dream body, your dream home, or excellence in your work.

Here Are a Few Pieces of Advice to Give You Enthusiasm and Energy to Live Fully:

  • Start working on what you love, even if it’s just part-time—just start.

  • Create a compelling future and pursue what your heart truly wants, because only then will you give your best. Goals like buying a new car or paying monthly expenses won’t give you enough energy to change your life. Pursue what inspires you most.

  • Break down your main goal into smaller goals. This gives you small daily wins on your way to the big goal.

  • Embrace discipline, consistency, and commitment as tools to help you stay strong during hard times.

About Waking Up in the Morning With Energy and Purpose

Have you ever noticed the energy a child has on the day before Children’s Day or Christmas? She can’t wait to wake up. She goes to bed with joy and wakes with enthusiasm, driven by the excitement of what’s to come.

What if your mornings felt the same? I believe you can go to bed with determination and wake with enthusiasm. One of the best ways to unlock this emotion is by creating a morning routine that sets you up for your most meaningful goal—something that, if achieved, would bring profound significance to your life.

Creating this morning routine means adopting habits that help you become the person you need to be to accomplish what you want in life—your dream body, outstanding performance at work, your dream home, and more.

"Your level of success will rarely exceed your level of personal development."
— Jim Rohn.

Working on ourselves is one of the best decisions we can make, because it’s a process of self-discovery. This process allows us to practice habits that deeply transform our lives.

Morning Practices That Will Transform You Into the Person You Need to Be:

  • Silence (prayer and meditation)
  • Gratitude
  • Journaling and reflection (profound questioning about how you’ve been living your life and the path you’ve chosen; write everything your heart tells you)
  • Reading (nourish your mind just as you nourish your body)
  • Physical exercise (boosts mental resilience and energy for the day)

A morning routine filled with healthy habits has a profound impact on the quality of our lives. It’s a time for self-discovery, reflecting on our purpose, and practicing gratitude. Through this process, we often find a deep sense of peace and love, connect with our souls, and regain control over our lives.

Hal Elrod’s Advice for Eliminating Resistance in the Morning:

  • Set your intention for the next day, the day before.
  • Put your alarm clock in another room.
  • When you wake up, turn on the light and get out of bed immediately.
  • Brush your teeth.
  • Take a shower.
  • Drink a glass of water.
  • Get dressed and start your routine in the order that works best for you.

What Time Should I Wake Up?

Wake up 20 to 30 minutes earlier than usual, ideally between 5 and 6 a.m., when the world is still quiet and the day’s demands haven’t started. I personally prefer waking up at 5:00 a.m. because it offers tranquility and serenity, allowing me to engage in this process without distractions.

How Much Time Should I Spend on These Habits?

It depends on your lifestyle. Even 10 minutes for each habit can create great results. If you have more time, you can extend each practice.

One Question to Ponder This Week…

Sometimes, along the journey, we reach a stage where we don’t have the energy or strength to keep going. This is when discipline and commitment step in to keep us on the path. Many times, we will be tempted to give up.

In these moments, ask yourself:
If I commit to the daily transformation of my being, what impact will it have on my life?

To conclude: a daily morning ritual brings a strong sense of gratitude, love, and fulfillment. Many times, during my journey of self-improvement—reflecting deeply and breaking mental chains—I have felt tears running down my face. These tears came from a deep sense of gratitude: for the process, for the knowledge, and for God.

From the bottom of my heart, I encourage you to work on yourself. You will see your life transform day by day, bringing you closer to what you desire most.

Next week, I will explore each of these self-development practices in more depth.
